A St.Louis, Missouri housewife has shocked neighbours
and friends by admitting she doesn't put everyone else
first. "You know how, according to Oprah and Gloria
Steinem, women always put themselves last?" said Gloria Munsinger over the phone to BrokenNewz this morning.
"Well, I put everyone else last, and me first!" Munsinger, mother of three and wife of Keith Munsinger, a St.Louis insurance company executive, says her primary concern is her own happiness and pleasure, and that her children and pets come second, her mother and father third and her husband a distant fifth. "That's after my friends, who come fourth," laughed Munsinger.
According to neighbours, Munsinger's children, Ashley, Brianna and Keith Junior, often look "scruffy and undernourished, and are late for school if their mother feels like staying in and watching Regis and Kelly in the mornings. Or else she'll send them out on their own, even though the oldest, Ashley, is only seven." Munsinger says she "never really learned to put anyone ahead of me when I was growing up, so it's hard to think of others now." Keith Munsinger said he wasn't "at all surprised" to hear of his wife's distinction.
"I watch those shows sometimes, you know, like Oprah. And I hear how women always put their husbands' and children's needs first. And I think 'what women?' My Gloria went off to an aerobics class last week when I was having an epileptic seizure and another time she left her mother
-- who is blind and in a wheelchair -- in the middle
of a mall while she ran over to a nearby Starbucks to
sit down and have a latte and a biscotti. When I asked
her about it she said 'Keith, I needed to chill,
alright? Get off my case.'"
