Chicago - In a major coup for his re-election campaign, the editorial staff of Playboy Magazine is set to announce the journal’s official endorsement of President Goerge W. Bush. Citing the need for “more Bush,” the editors of Playboy say that “Bush, along with a state-of-the-art stereo system and a high performance car, remains one of the most important components of the lifestyle of the young, sophisticated, upscale urban male.”

“We’re delighted with Playboy’s recognition of the central importance of Bush in this time of a rapidly expanding economy,” said Karl Rove, President Bush’s chief political strategist. “And it goes without saying that in the post 9/11 world, Bush can provide comfort like nothing else.”

In their endorsement of Bush the editors of Playboy downplay the significance of upstart Howard Dean’s angry insurgent campaign. “No matter how angry Dean becomes,” say the editors, “His attempt to snatch the campaign will go nowhere. We need Bush, now more than ever.”
