Controversial filmmaker Michael Moore exhorted
"conservative pranksters" to "throw pies, preferably
blueberry ones, right at me the next time I give a
speech."
Moore made the announcement yesterday after learning
that conservative commentators Ann Coulter and David
Horowitz were the object of pastry-tossing liberal
fanatics during recent speeches.
"I don't like Coulter or Horowitz, but I do like the
treatment they're getting," said Moore. "If I could
enrage some right-wingers out there enough to chuck
some coconut crème my way...sounds pretty good to me."
Moore's publicist is busy scheduling speeches for
Moore, who promised to speak next Thursday at the
University of Tennessee, with "fork in hand."
"Coulter, who weighs as much as my left ankle bone,
was quick enough to get out of the way," said Moore.
"I wouldn't be able to avoid a pie coming at my
face...but that's kind of the idea."
Moore also said this was a great way to "bash
President Bush and get my calories," all in "one fell
swoop."
"If conservative audiences would rather throw some hot
turkey sandwiches with gravy, that would also work,"
Moore said.
