Ben Affleck's Offer to Quit Making Movies Boosts John Kerry's Poll Numbers

At a fundraiser for John Kerry in Ohio, Ben Affeck jokingly offered to quit acting if people would elect the Senator to the Presidency. As a possible result of the promise, Kerry's poll numbers jumped a significant four percentage points in the highly contested battleground state.

Officials for the Kerry campaign did not credit Affleck for the bounce saying instead that it was a result of the Senator's latest take on Iraq. However, an unnamed insider said that a Kerry advisor has been calling Madonna, Britney Spears and "The Rock" to see if they would make similar pledges.

Not to be out done, Republican pollsters found that a similar pledge from Arnold Swartzennegger would have little affect. However, a promise from the action star turned governor to make a movie which would feature Arnold repeatedly pummeling Affleck did poll well for Republicans.
